Intern – Electrical Engineering

The electrical engineering internship will offer the candidate the ability to develop an understanding of the electrical contracting industry through working on various stages of projects from estimating to completion. 

 Position Summary:

The purpose of the electrical engineering intern is to learn our processes and systems by using their education and experience to assist in estimating and, when available, local field operations.

Basic Duties:

• Review plans and specifications
• Prepare quantity take offs
• Prepare estimates according to SCE’s processes for review by Chief Estimator
• Review ASI’s (Architectural Supplemental Instructions) and CPR’s (Change Proposal Requests) to determine if there are cost changes or impacts to SCE’s scope of work
• Perform field walks, assist with field placement according to plans and specifications
• Create and maintain project files in accordance with company processes
• Other duties as assigned

 Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be seeking an undergraduate degree Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology or similar field
• Working experience with Office365
• Procore experience is helpful but not required
• Leadership, organizational, and time management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
