Electrical Superintendent

Position Summary:
The purpose of an Electrical Superintendent is to supervise new construction, alterations, installation, additions, and/or repairs to electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials/equipment within the construction industry on multiple projects.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to oversee multiple foreman/projects simultaneously while meeting contractor deadlines
- Act as a foreman on projects when foreman is not on site, or a foreman has not been assigned
- Plan, organize, and direct the contracted scope of work
- Identify and resolve conflicts, work issues, and safety issues in a timely manner
- Ensures that installations are performed in accordance with plans, specifications, laws, regulations, and/or local codes and ordinances
- Attend general contractor meetings and disseminate necessary information to foreman, field crews, office personnel, and leadership
- Perform all electrical tasks on site as needed with minimal supervision and assistance throughout all operations within the contract documents as specified.
- Possess the skills and trade set of the job titles of lower hierarchy (Apprentice Electricians).
- Fully comprehend the NFPA 70 National Electrical Code as well as electrical theory.
- Field management of electrical projects and implementing measures to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ability to work a minimum 8 hours per day with a minimum weekly total of 40 hours per week
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Highschool Graduate, or G.E.D. equivalent training with approval
- Minimum of 5 years of Electrical Multi-Family Experience, experience managing labor and installation of crews of 10+ Electrical Supervisors and Electricians, and experience managing multiple foreman/projects simultaneously
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
- Ability to review site conditions and develop 3 week look ahead schedules
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate with other MEP trades and the General Contractor
- Proficient in reviewing/understanding process equipment electrical schematics as well as wiring installation.
- Knowledgeable on scopes of work and recognizing contract/change order requirements.
- Must have an excellent understanding of NEC, and familiar with NFPA & NESC.
- Current driver’s license and have ability to provide own transportation to/from job site locations. (Job site locations are not always served by public transportation.)
- Current Journeyman License and/or equivalent experience.
Job Site Working Conditions:
- Must be physically able to stand and work for extended periods of time, while carrying required personal tool set (approximately 30 pounds).
- Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds as needed on job site.
- Ability to climb ladders of all types and work overhead as project requires.
- Possess good vision at all times (normal or corrected).
- Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned tasks.
- Ability to work in all exterior/interior elements such as heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
